Before we further talk about post-op care, we must tell you that the first step while deciding to undergo a surgery must be to examine the overall health of the person. This is the stepping stone for a successful surgery ensuring safety and faster recovery. Therefore, one needs to be very careful while choosing his/her surgeon. For best liposuction treatment in Delhi, you can get in touch with Dr. Mrinalini Sharma at Aestiva Clinic.

So, here is what she recommends all her patients after a liposuction surgery-

1. Take Rest and Proper Diet - Rest is essential. It is much required after the surgery and so is to take a balanced diet. Limit the consumption of salts, sugars, and saturated fats. Vitamins and antioxidants help in quick recovery. Drink plenty of water. Most board-certified plastic surgeons advise eating pineapple. You'll be surprised to know that pineapples are great for helping recover you faster. Well, you don't always need medication to heal yourself!

2. Choose Light Exercise and Gentle Massage - Avoid vigorous exercise in the initial weeks. You can always enjoy short walks though. Gentle massage helps in releasing toxins in the lymph nodes. This is called lymphatic massage. Also, it reduces any kind of pain or discomfort. Surprisingly, this boosts immunity as well.

3. Use Compression Garment - Wearing an elastic compression garment is a must for at least 3-4 weeks post-surgery. It provides the required support and helps in draining the fluids and keeps incision sites protected. This also reduces pain and discomfort.

4. Avoid Swimming - During the recovery process, you need to avoid swimming or immerse in a bathtub as this may affect the incision sites. Also, there may be chances of infections.

Mild bruising and pain are normal, however, if you feel excessive pain or experience bleeding you must immediately contact your surgeon.
